Course on visual news story telling available to TV journalists

Television journalists are invited to apply for a week-long course on visual news story telling offered by the Sri Lanka Press Institute (SLPI). The training, to be held March 17-21 in Colombo, Sri Lanka, is free of charge.

The course will consist of lectures, discussions and group sessions. Participants will learn how to shoot a story, sequencing and professional camera operation. They will also discuss the basics of editing, interview techniques and the grammar of television.

A basic knowledge of English is required. SLPI does not provide accommodation.

Symposium For Broadcast Journalists To Be Held In Malaysia

Journalists from across the globe have the opportunity to attend the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) Digital Broadcasting Symposium from March 10-13 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Registration is open until the date of event. Walk-in registration is also accepted.

The symposium will feature strong digital radio and TV broadcasting elements. It will aim to address how implementation strategies, consumer services and business planning can be employed to undertake the progression to digital and mobile services.
